"I don't do back round checks, I trust you," Tatiyana said. Obviously this woman had the wrong idea of her and she didn't like when people had the wrong idea. Tanya bit her lip gently, deciding to just be quiet. Obviously Caitlyn didn't want to talk to her and she was fine with that. Suddenly her cell phone rang and she rummaged through her purse to get it.
"Hello?" she said, taking a few quick steps ahead of Cate. After a few 'yes's' and 'hmm's' Tanya said, "I'll meet you tomorrow, thank you. Good night." It had been one of her college friends from Oxford who was equally interested in King Arthur and Camelot. He had called to tell her he had some information.
"I just had a call from an old friend of mine. You'd like him," Tatiyana said with a confident smile before continuing to walk.

"I'm sure if he is anything like you I would indeed," Caitlyn teased, loosening up a bit. Soon they approached the front desk and the secretary was just going to the door. She let them pass and then locked up. Ahead, a truck was pulling away a car. "Would that be your vehicle?" Caitlyn inquired. She knew it wasn't her own and it was highly unlikely to be Sherry's since they both had reserved spots.

Tatiyana laughed at the comment. "Well, he is as interested in King Arthur as I am," she said. Tanya smiled at the secretary and said thank you one last time before she walked out. When Caitlyn mentioned a car, she quickly looked to where she had parked it and saw indeed that it was her car. "Oh no, my rental," she said. "nuts, now I'll have to get a taxi." Tanya didn't mind taxis, but this was an inconvenience.

"Well, I could give you a lift if you want. Taxi in New York are normally worse than just walking...depending on where you are at that is," Caitlyn said, fishing her keys out of her purse. "Plus I do have some questions," she added with a smirk, and she was sure that this would more than likely scare her off. But Cate always had been perhaps a bit too curious and now was no different. She hugged Sherry goodbye before the older woman went to her car and started up the engine. "So, what will it be?"

Tatiyana looked at the truck that was driving away with her car, then at the sidewalk and taxis that past by. She had a choice and though Caitlyn hadn't been the sweetest person to her today, she was thankful for the offer. "Alright, I'll come with you," she said, following Cate. Tanya didn't mind being asked questions as she loved answering them. "I'm staying at the Radisson Lexington Hotel," she added.

"That's kinda on my way," Caitlyn said with a soft smile as she walked around the side of the building to where her car was parked. It was a long row of car spots for facilty only and save her a lot of time and money. She pressed the 'unlock' button on her keychain and two quick beeps were heard from the small, red convertable. She was still surprised to this day that no one had vandelized it or stolen it.
"Get on in," she said opening the driver's down and lowering herself in, but keeping the top of the car up. It looked as if it might rain. She put her key into the ignition and then snapped on her seatbelt. Then she turned the key and the car began to hum. She waited for Tatiyana to get in and then began to carefully back out of the parking space.

Tatiyana smiled again as she followed Caitlyn to her car. When she saw the car, Tanya was shocked that a teacher could afford such a car. A teacher's income normally wasn't very extravagant. "Nice car," she said with a smile, meaning it. She opened the door and got in and drew down the seat bet and clicked it in place. The soft hum of the motor was familiar as she waited for Cate to begin to drive.

She began down the semi-busy, 1-way road, making her way through the city. "So, why so interested in Aurthur? Is it just like a hobby or something," Cate said, driving on, though she did not look over at Tatiyana. She wasn't sure how serious the other girl was about the legends and myths. It almost seemed like she was just curious about such things. But then again, why not just read about it on Wikipedia instead of going all the way to New York simply for some books?

"My father used to read to me when I was a little girl. One of those stories was of the great city, Camelot, and the city lost in the mists, Avalon. I wondered what happened to Avalon and if King Arthur and the evil Morgaine existed," Tatiyana replied, her voice changing to that of a little girl fascinated with holding a twenty dollar bill her first time. Keep in mind a twenty seems like a big sum of money to a child; something not to be spent all at once.
"When I was in college, in England, I took a trip north to where Camelot is rumored to have been. Just standing there, where the great King could have ridden was thrilling," Tatiyana continued to say. "I suppose it is childish, but I wish to find the location of Avalon." She gave a shrug, though she knew Cate couldn't see it.

"Awesome," Cate said, looking over her shoulder into her blind spot and then switching lanes. Then she quickly turned lefted down another street. "So are you on a quest or something to find it or are you merely just in a state of wonder?" Caitlyn inquired next, it was more detailed that her last question, though at the heart of it, it was almost the same question. She was trying to find out how serious Tati really was, if she was serious at all.

"I suppose I would really like to find Avalon, though I wouldn't know where to start. My friend had told me to come here, that I could find a few books to help me on my quest. Surprisingly enough, they were on loan at your school. I was wondering why," Tatiyana said, turning her head to look at Cate.

"We are currently covering the medieval era in our 6th grade class. Myself and Hailey Stewart - who I teach with - thought it would add great interest if we included myths and legends of Europe while in the topic," Caitlyn said, still focused on the road. She left out the fact that Caitlyn has picked out the books from all over the country and used them for more than just teaching. But that knowledge was between her and Hailey for now. Some stranger certainly didn't need to know that.

Tatiyana, who didn't know what the proper curriculum for a 6th grade class, nodded at what Cate said. "Medieval history is interesting with all the different kings and battles. To think, if knights were truly chivalrous and romantic as the poems and stories say, it must have been nice. But then, women were treated like sickly beings who needed to be confined and kept pure for men."

"And I believe some of their ideas about woman had good, moral roots...espeically seeing how girls are turning out these days," Cate said, refering to countless girls who saw no value in purity and threw themselves at every boy they saw. She was glad the conversation was changing from herself and to another subject. "Though I would hardly wish to be forced into an arranged marriage," she said with a smirk as she made another turn.

"But it's freedom. Our society still is stifling and with the little freedom girls experience, it causes them to rebel even more. A girl can be a lawyer, a politician, a doctor and yet she can't do what a man does. A man also throws himself out there, turning out the same ways as these girls. How can a girl not want the complete freedom too? I agree though that it is appalling what children are doing now and that it isn't right," Tatiyana said in response. "At least there are no arranged marriages in an average American household," she agreed, leaving out that some cultures still did it, and there were marriages in America that were arranged.
